When HE wills something to happen, HE says it to 'Be, and it is'. The deep and vast meaning of the term Kun Fayakun descends to 'Be, and it is'. How beautiful that sounds! I do realize that I was unaware of it before the release of Rockstar. When I heard this song for the first time while watching the movie itself, I had my attention partly on this particular word/s KunFayakun consciously. The other 'partly' was completely in admiring the cast of Ranbir in the song. I personally as a big fan of Ranbir think he fits this song in such a way that there is no other alternate actor who could make it that way. With his little beard initially on and then latter beard on more than a 5 'o' clock shadow and the gestures signing his typical on-screen nature through out the whole song only gave a feel of his Baybasi(powerlessness) and it was all that needed in the song.
They have shown a typical way of life resembling a whole world revolving around this naive lad who had once dared and thought that he could provide entertainment to public at the bus stop. But what he got was a few stale toasts in hands to be eaten with tea every morning. All he had was his guitar and the enduring hopes that let him sing his best in the Dargah which proved to be the best place to pick up from and where he got all his wishes fulfilled. Moreover, the getup of the Ranbir's rugged look was rooted from there which also gained a good sort of grunge.. Thus, the flow of this short story in the song makes a wonderful sense and gives an amazing start up for showing his boosting career ahead.
Kun Fayakun was remarkably lyrics by Irshad Kamil and superb singing by Rahman, Javed Ali and 'the last but not least' Mohit Chauhan who gave his outstanding playback voice to the star Ranbir for all the songs in the movie..
The other parts of the story(movie) were stunning as well. I suggest some scenes where bold works of art were done and that they were eye catching--
1 > when the poor younger sister of Ranbir as the biggest fan stealth-fully went to buy the CDs of his album and later on the way as she had dressed up like him, 2 > the short video of his college time singing alongside a huge poster of Jordan Fan Club,
3 > and the horrible scenery which shows a blowing guitar with fire in front of a tub filled with water in which he was sitting and staring at the guitar on glow and a slow shower pouring at the same time..
All of those and a lot more imaginary scenes in the movie have given an extraordinary streak of uncommon touches that also gave a feel of Difference.. While at the termination we found no suited end but that was the major point out of which a conclusion was meant to be brought forth. Although we expect always a sunny ending when it comes to a climax, we observe a number of stories without a proper ending. They are suggestive that drive us to conclude our own ideas to reach its meaningful end.
From the very first few moments when we saw Ranbir un-clenching his fingers to play hard on the stage till the last few minutes we came across a gloomy yet lovely story that ended up having him still on the stage facing Nargis(Heer) in imagination. I think I do have a good reason why I had watched the movie twice..
